HIKING
The area around Volyně is ideal for hiking. For your convenience, we have prepared a number of excursions in and around Volyně, which might interest you. The town of Volyně is definitely well worth seeing. The town is interesting from both a historical (e.g. town hall, museum, architecture, cemetary), and natural enviroment perspective. Do not miss seeing neighbouring villages renowned for their Silesian Baroque architecture - Zechovice, Jiřetice, Předslavice and many more. The surrounding areas to the Bohemian Forest („Pošumaví“) will enchant you with their freedom and beauty. Towns like Dobrš, the Javorník observation tower, Helfenburk, Hoštice u Volyně, ...along with maps and our advise and guides are a guarantee that you will find something to your liking!
SKIING
The following Czech, German and Austrian ski resorts cater for skiers of all levels . Ski resort ZADOV is suitable for all categories of skiers and is located only 25km from our apartmants. The ski resort KUBOVA HUŤ is also only 25km away and can be reached by train from Volyně. KRAMOLÍN is a well equiped ski resort and is situated close to the damn Lipno. Kramolin is 80 km away from our apartment and is more suited to day trips. Hochficht or Smrčina (in Czech), is another ski resort, where you can find the best alpine skiing in the Bohemian Forest. The resort lies in Austria, 80 km away from our apartment and is more suited to a day trips and can by reached via the Strážný border. MITTERDORF is another resort on the border with the Czech Republic – in Germany, just across the border from Strážný, about 55km from Volyně. This resort offers reasonable skiing for reasonable prices and is suitable for families with children
CYCLING
The area around Volyně offers a wealth of marked trails, which vary in both length and in the demands placed on individual cyclists. Trail and guide books are available for those interested. Just make sure you have good brakes!!!
SWIMMING
For those in search of swimming, sauna and water sports, STRAKONICE , HORAŽĎOVICE and PRACHATICE offer swimming facilities to cater to your needs. Volyně also offers a swimming pool for outdoor swimming. For those in search of places to swim that do not have chlorine, the Husinec damn roughly 10 km away provides such an opportunity. Good swimming spots can also be found in the river Volyňka, in close proximty to your accomodation.

MUSIC FESTIVALS
For those who like music, feel free to attend the yearly country and folk festival -Stodola Michala Tučného in the nearby town of Hoštice u Volyně. Every two years Strakonice comes alive with the sound of bagpipes in the international - Dudácký festival . Or attend the summer festival of old music in Prachatice.
